Little Wonders ELC is a Be You centre, meaning that our educators undertake regular training and professional development in regards to how to best care for and implement practices for children and families, mental health and well-being; and their own!

Be You used to be KidsMatter and the name got changed over in 2018. Be You aims to transform Australia’s approach to supporting children’s and young people’s mental health in early learning services and schools, from early years to 18.

Be You helps educators develop their understandings and teachings of how to best help children and families through not only daily ups and down, but significant events such as when experiencing trauma or family separation.

Families play a vital part of children’s mental health and well- being and we always want to work in partnership with families to achieve a the next generation of mentally healthy children. The home environment, and the families that occupy them, play a primary role on the ongoing development of children and young people. Families can include parents, carers, grandparents and kin who care for a child.

Any educator in an early learning service or school needs to know how to work effectively, sensitively and confidentially with families (who can have a diversity of circumstances) to foster the mental health of children and young people.
